I built myself a paper box to live inside of
And underneath the paper moon I hug my paper dolls
I draw smiles on their faces and I write all of their happy thoughts
And put them on my walls
I’m so happy with my paper family
I’m so happy, and everybody loves me
Here inside my paper box there is no room for angry thoughts
Unhappy tears are out of place upon a paper face
My heart’s made of papier-mâché and painted red
And taught to move with every kiss I give away
And taught to love this paper room
And I’m so happy with my paper family
I’m so happy and everybody loves, loves, loves me
The paper leaves are falling fast on my origami garden by the sea
Pieces of a life that’s passed
You were only ever real to me, to me
I built myself a paper box

Strange
03:05

What if you could see inside my head
See what swings from light posts
See the colours of the paths I tread
What if you could hear the things I've heard
Listen to my memories and make sense of every word
'Cause I've been hearing a strange, soft sound
That nobody hears
Like a heart break, breaking and drowning in tears
I've been watching a life slip, slipping
Through monotonous days
Like a mannequin marching through perpetual haze
And it's strange, strange, strange
What if every wish I wished came true
Everyone would see the things I always hid from view
What if I could show you what I've seen in my darkest hours
Would you finally understand me?
'Cause I've been hearing a strange, soft sound
That nobody hears
Like a heart break, breaking and drowning in tears
I've been watching a life slip, slipping
Through monotonous days
Like a mannequin marching through perpetual haze
And it's strange, strange
I've been pursing my lips
And cursing the times I tripped and I let it slip that I
Oh, I almost, I almost did it again
And I've been crossing my fingers
Behind my back when talking
But words keep walking

Remember
03:30
|
|||
Don’t breathe a word, you’ll break me
My fragile arms are made of glass
And what remains of what’s within me
Is only wisps of smoke and ash
Remember, remember, for soon I will be
A shadow, a whisper, an echo of me
Don’t turn away, don’t you sleep now
December’s slipping slowly away
The stars are hushed and they are dreaming
My broken heart will finally cave
Only a moment more and I will be
A pile of rubble and decay
Only a moment more and I will be a passing thought
And melt away, away
Don’t twist your thoughts around me
My frail heart is brittle now
And what remains of what was there when you found me
Is begging to be buried deep down
Remember, remember
For soon I will be
A shadow, a whisper
A memory
